A full day of surfing, art and music — followed by a night of live music, laughter and community. Sydney's newest event dedicated to uplifting people facing mental health challenges.

Chillus is a Sydney-based organisation running free surfing, art and music programs for people facing disadvantage. Our first flagship event — The Chillus Experience — is dedicated to people living with mental health challenges.
We believe that creativity, connection and the ocean have extraordinary power to heal. By bringing world-class mentors together with participants who rarely get this kind of access, we create something genuinely transformative — not just for the people who attend, but for everyone who witnesses it.
This is community at its best: generous, inclusive and alive with possibility. Whether you're joining us for the free day program or the public night concert, you're part of something meaningful.

Sixty participants come together for a full day of guided surfing, visual art and music — led by three extraordinary mentors. Referrals are coordinated through Mission Australia and LocalKind Northern Beaches, with six spots reserved for people from Gloucester.
Hit the waves at Dee Why Beach with Wayne Ryan's Line Up Surf Australia — experienced, supportive and endlessly encouraging.
Create alongside Caspian de Looze, artist to the stars, and contribute to a collaborative painting that will later be auctioned at the night concert.
Nicholas Howard — composer and father of global superstar The Kid LAROI — guides participants through writing and performing a song together. Those who choose can join him on stage that evening.
After the day program, the night comes alive with an unforgettable fundraising concert at Dee Why RSL. Hosted by comedian Christian Elderfield and magician Philip Cornwall, the evening is warm, entertaining and open to everyone.
Welcome to the night. Settle in, grab a drink, and soak up the atmosphere.
Caspian de Looze's own band kick off the night with a high-energy opening set that sets the tone perfectly.
Nicholas Howard performs — joined on stage by any day participants who choose to take the leap and share what they created together. A genuinely moving moment.
Beloved Australian rock legends Taxiride take the stage for a full headline set from 9 to 10pm. If their hit Get Set comes on, you'll know every word.
Following Taxiride, a live auction of extraordinary one-of-a-kind items raises funds for Chillus programs and partner causes.

Following Taxiride's headline set, a live auction features a collection of truly one-of-a-kind items — each one with a story. All proceeds support Chillus programs, SurfAid, Support Act and our community farm in Cambodia.
A one-of-a-kind box-framed Wasting Light record signed by the entire Foo Fighters band — including the late, great Taylor Hawkins. An extraordinarily rare piece of rock history..
A beautifully shaped custom surfboard, made to ride and to display. A special piece for ocean lovers and collectors alike.
A collaborative painting created by Caspian and the day's participants — a living artwork born from the experience — plus a separate original painting by Caspian himself.

Every dollar raised helps fund three causes close to our hearts.
Proceeds support ongoing Chillus events and programs across Sydney, as well as SurfAid — which uses surfing to improve health and wellbeing in vulnerable communities — and Support Act, Australia's music industry charity providing crisis relief to artists and crew.
Whether you're registering for the free day program, buying a concert ticket, or simply spreading the word — you're helping build something that matters. Come and be part of it.
